Since Bikeable Jo started, I have loved talking to people (some friends, often strangers) about their cycling adventures. Earlier this week, I received this note from a woman I work with.
Subject: Cycling in Skirts
Enjoying your blog.
Stopped doing much regular cycling when the children were born, but as an ex-student of St Andrews and Oxford was once seen around town on a sit-up-and-beg with a basket.
My preferred sort of skirt for cycling had pleats, as can be seen here (France summer 1989). Large hat a must in sunnier climes and long sleeves to protect fair Scottish skin (a good fitting gents Panama does not blow off).
