The very very bikeable Berlin

Three days in Berlin!  There certainly wasn’t enough time but in between museums, great beers, and beautiful weather – we rented some bikes and explored the city. The streets (and sidewalks!) suit all kinds of cyclists – long haul travellers, commuters, tourists, the list goes on. It’s just life and if feels very safe. You could feel a real respect for cyclists – no honking or cars turning into bike lanes.  Could Edinburgh get there?

Bikeable traffic lights and lanes.

Bikes are everywhere, even in places where there doesn’t seem to be space. While enjoying my stewed pork knuckle, I tried to capture the movement of sidewalk outside the restaurant.
