Tell us about your bike

My bike is a Giant Escape W, bought last year as a 50th birthday present. I mainly chose it though because of its integral bell on the gearshift.

 How would you describe your bikeable style?

Definitely tortoise. But I get there.

Favorite bikeable accessory

My pannier. It’s a lockable box. And bungee straps.

 Favorite cycling route or trip

The canal path to Ratho or the route around Loch Katrine. Always enjoy heading along the East Lothian Coast

Scottish weather cycling tip

Silk gloves worn under normal gloves. And overshoes, although this winter has been so mild I’ve not needed them.

Best advice for folks just starting out

Get a Spokes cycle map and discover new ways of travelling round the city.
